Human Pathophysiology and Pharmacology 1

60 lectures, 20 hours practicals. First semester and by distance education mode.

Available to Nursing Science students.

This subject aims to develop an understanding of the fundamentals of pathophysiological and pharmacological processes in relation to health and disease. The systems to be studied include cellular adaptation, genetics, inflammation, respiratory, renal and neurological and cardiovascular systems.

Learning Objectives:

  1. pathophysiological systems;
  2. fundamental concepts of pharmacology in treating disease.

Assessment by examination (70%); tutorial attendance (10%); written assignments (20%).
