Transitions into Nursing B

17 lectures, 30 hours nursing science laboratories, 160 hours clinical placement. Second semester.
Available only to level 2 nursing science students.
This subject develops concepts introduced in NS2011.
Learning Objectives:
- describe the pathophysiological and psychological processes which affect a client through their lifespan;
- relate theoretical mental health and medical-surgical nursing skills to practice;
- apply clinical problem-solving skills;
- assess, plan and systematically implement nursing care in a simulated situation;
- apply theoretical concepts in clinical settings.
Assessment by ongoing course assessment (40%); examination (60%); written documentation of competencies in clinical setting (satisfactory level required).
