Prerequisites: TG2500 (GE2300) or equivalent population studies. Concise or basic knowledge of population concepts

The subject will examine the implications of global population growth and the environmental implications of such growth; issues involved in population planning and charge and in growth control measures: changing age/gender structures and their socio-economic implications: international population movements (migrants, workers, refugees) and their growth.
Learning Objectives:
- to educate students in the implications of global population growth, population planning and change and the significance of international population movements.
Assessment by essay (25%); workshops (75%).
