26 lectures, 39 hours workshops, 10 hour project. Second semester.

Theories of population growth, economic development, family life cycle concept, population growth and the environment, cohort fertility, parity progression ratios, marriage and nuptiality, epidemiology and health, gerontological transition, regional and demographic impact of immigration, life table analysis, population policy and population projections.
Learning Objectives:
- to provide an overview of current demographic issues;
- to develop competency in research encompassing practical, oral and written skills;
- to provide conceptual framework to examine population related issues;
- to appreciate and apply the process of scientific inquiry, investigation and reporting.
Assessment by examination (50%); essay (10%); workshops (20%); seminar (20%).
