This is the final semester of a six semester advanced program for students studying Graphic Design. Students will cultivate practical and creative skills and concentrate on the refinement of an individual, distinctive personal style. Particular emphasis will be given to developing an awareness of professional and industrial requirements and to job seeking and personal development programs, including proficiency in freelancing skills. To this end, students will learn how to utilise communications technologies more efficiently, whilst developing interpersonal skills relevant to private design practice. The semester’s work will centre around four major individual self directed research assignments written in consultation with the supervising lecturer. This work will form the centrepiece of the students contribution to the graduate exhibition, as well as several key folio pieces. Consequently, all work will be clearly idiosyncratic in its resolution. Development of communication related skills will continue to be a central focus of the teaching program, with teaching being directed towards individual development on a one to one basis. Students will be encouraged to assess their own strengths and weaknesses and use studio time to best advantage.

Assessment by four practical assignments (100%). Attendance of less than 80% at practical workshops will render students ineligible for assessment unless prior written approval has been obtained from the lecturer, academic adviser or Head of College.
