Prerequisites: CS3000 CS3001 CS3003 CS4001 CS4002
78 hours practicals, 5 days field work. Second semester.
Available to civil engineering students.
Design generally three projects covering hydraulic engineering, structural engineering and systems/environmental/transportation/ geotechnical engineering. Where possible, these will be treated in an integrated way. In this subject, the designs will be more open-ended and oriented towards overall projects compared with earlier design subjects.
Field trip students will be required to participate in an extended field trip to inspect civil engineering projects outside the Townsville area.
Learning Objectives:
- develop skills relating to design in the areas of hydraulic, structural, and systems/ transportation/environmental/geotechnical engineering;
- appreciate the holistic and interdisciplinary nature of civil engineering;
