Management Foundation in Aquaculture

Available to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Applied Science, Graduate Diploma, Master of Applied Science or Masters programs.

Management functions of planning, decision making, controlling, organising, leading and managing in aquaculture industries in the 2000s and beyond.

This subject shares lectures, tutorials and practical classes with AQ3014 .

Learning Objectives:

  1. describe the challenges confronting managers in the aquaculture industry;
  2. examine selected management functions critical to the success of organisation in the aquaculture industry;
  3. briefly examine relevant topics in marketing, economics, small business management and commerce that impact on decision-making;
  4. increase the student’s awareness and understanding of fundamental management issues in order to increase their effectiveness and efficiency for future employment in industry.

Assessment by examination (40%); written project (40%); assignment (20%).
