Journalism Literature

Townsville, Cairns

HECS Band 1

13 hours seminars. Semester 1 and 2.

This reading subject is to enrich students’ sense of attachment to a journalistic tradition going beyond routines of work or organisational life, while providing various perspectives on professional issues and mass communication issues generally. The readings will recall achievements of leading writers identified as journalists and investigate the idea of journalistic writing as a mode of literary expression amenable to considerable refinement. The list will include writings by journalists about journalistic issues, or by non-journalists about such issues, or literary work by journalists.

Learning objectives as for JN4011.
