1. Entitlement to attend
A student of the University shall be entitled to attend any lecture with the permission of the lecturer.
2.1 Non-degree students
A person who is not proceeding to a degree may enrol for any subject with the approval of the Head of School and on completing the subject shall be entitled to receive an official statement to that effect on application to the Registrar.
2.2 A person who has not qualified for Ordinary or Alternative Entry Admission may enrol for any subject with the approval of the Head of School in the terms of Requirement 3.1, but may enrol for subjects in more than one School only with the approval of the faculty. Subjects completed by such a student may not be credited towards a degree except by permission of the faculty.
3. Saving clause
Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in these Requirements, the faculty may in any case in which it may deem it appropriate to do so, dispense with or suspend any condition of or prescription by these Requirements. Any such action by the faculty shall be recorded for the purposes of an annual review.
BACHELOR DEGREES IN LAW
1. In addition to the Faculty Award Requirements candidates for Awards of the faculty must comply with the University Requirements for Undergraduate Coursework Awards listed in this Handbook.
2. In exceptional circumstances and notwithstanding anything contained in the University Requirements for Undergraduate Coursework Awards and the Degree or Diploma Award Requirements, the faculty may in any case in which it may deem it appropriate to do so, dispense with or amend any conditions of or prescription of these Requirements.
3. The faculty will publish annually a list of subjects available to candidates. The list appears as Table VI in the Master Schedule of Subjects.
4.1 Candidates for Awards of the faculty may apply to obtain credit for previous tertiary study as detailed in the Faculty Policy Statement on credit transfer and associated guidelines.
4.2 Unless the faculty otherwise determines, credit gained for any subject shall be cancelled eleven years after the date of the examination upon which the credit is based if by then the candidate has not completed the course of study prescribed for the degree.
BACHELOR OF LAWS AND BACHELOR OF LAWS WITH HONOURS
1.1 Requirements for completion of the degree course
A candidate for the pass degree in Law shall follow a course of study as specified in the program shown under Undergraduate Courses and Majors, to obtain a minimum of 96 units. The time for completion of the degree is four years full-time.
1.2 Candidates enrolling in Law who have completed a bachelor degree at this or another University in any other field of study (graduate candidates) shall follow a course of study as specified under the heading Graduate Entry Program shown under Undergraduate Courses and Majors, to obtain a minimum of 72 units. The time for completion of the degree is three years of full-time study.
2.1 Limitation of enrolment
In selecting the subjects for which a candidate seeks to enrol in any year the candidate shall adhere as far as possible to the order in which the subjects of the course are set out in the program.
2.2 A candidate who has completed all the subjects listed as level 1, level 2 and level 3 subjects in the program may enrol in the professional subjects listed in Requirement 3.
3. Professional subjects
With the approval of the faculty, a candidate may enrol for and take the examination in the following subjects,* passes in which may be required for admission to practice, but no credit for a pass in any such subject may be applied in satisfaction of the requirements for the pass or honours degree:

4. Supplementary Examination
A candidate who has failed the final subject towards the degree or towards admission as a barrister or solicitor and who gained 40 per cent or more of the marks for that subject, may be granted a supplementary examination in that subject.
5. Bachelor of Laws with Honours
A candidate for the degree with honours (a) shall fulfil the requirements for the pass degree at such a standard as the faculty may from time to time determine; and (b) shall be required to submit a research assignment on a topic approved by the faculty. The grade of honours will be calculated in accordance with the facultys approved policy*.

DEGREES AND CERTIFICATES IN BUSINESS, COMMERCE, ECONOMICS, MANAGEMENT AND TOURISM
1. Application of the requirements
In addition to the Faculty Award Requirements candidates for Awards must comply with the University Requirements for Undergraduate Coursework Awards listed in this handbook.
2. In exceptional circumstances the Executive Dean, with the approval of the relevant Head of School, may dispense with or amend any requirements or prescription of the University Requirements for Undergraduate Coursework Awards, Faculty Award Requirements and Degree, Diploma or Certificate Award Requirements.
3. Enrolment in awards
A person who holds an Award listed in General Requirement 1.1 may not be a candidate for that Award in the same discipline.
4. Credit
Candidates for Awards of the faculty may apply to obtain credit for previous tertiary study as detailed in the Faculty Policy Statement on credit transfer and associated guidelines.
5. The faculty will publish annually a list of subjects available to candidates. The list appears as Table II in the Master Schedule of Subjects.
6. In exceptional circumstances the Executive Dean with the approval of the relevant head of the school may permit a candidate to graduate with fewer than the stipulated units of study for an Award offered in the faculty.
BACHELOR OF ADMINISTRATION (TOURISM)BACHELOR OF ADMINISTRATION (TOURISM)
1.1 Award requirements
A candidate for the pass degree shall pursue studies to obtain normally a minimum of 72 units. The requirements of the degree are normally completed in three years of full-time study.
1.2 The 72 units shall be obtained in accordance with the requirements set out in the specified program shown under Undergraduate Courses and Majors.

1. Administration of the degree

A candidate for a Bachelor of Administration (Tourism) with Honours shall:
2.1 complete the requirements of the pass degree, or an equivalent degree from another university;
2.2 include in the degree course the appropriate pass degree subjects, as set out in the program of study or equivalent subjects from another university;
2.3 include in the degree course 24 units of specified Honours subjects.

An application by a student to enrol for an Honours degree must be approved by the Head of School. Normally, a student will not be permitted to enrol for an Honours degree unless a minimum average grade of credit has been obtained in the pass degree subjects relevant to the field in which Honours are to be taken.
3.2 In the case of this Honours program, a graduate who has been awarded an appropriate pass degree within the faculty may apply to enrol for an Honours degree provided the pass degree was awarded not more than two academic years prior to the year in which enrolment in an Honours degree is sought. Such a candidate shall comply with the Requirements of the pass degree and shall complete such additional work (including pass degree subjects) as the Head of the appropriate program may prescribe.
4. Thesis
The subject of any thesis shall be approved by the Head of School and the thesis shall usually be presented before 30 November in the candidates final year of study, unless otherise determined by the Head of School.

1.2 The 96 units shall be obtained in accordance with the Requirements set out in the Schedule below.
2. Special Notes
A candidate who cannot take one of the compulsory subjects shown under Undergraduate Courses and Majors, or for whom a special case can be made, may be permitted to take an extra elective in place of one compulsory subject.

Normally, a student will not be permitted to enrol for an honours degree unless a minimum average grade of credit has been obtained in the pass degree subjects relevant to the field in which honours are being undertaken.
2.2 In the case of this honours program a graduate who has been awarded an appropriate pass degree with the faculty may apply to enrol for an honours degree provided the pass degree was awarded not more than two academic years prior to the year in which enrolment in an honours degree is sought. Such a candidate shall comply with the requirements of the pass degree and shall complete such additional work (including pass degree subjects) as the Head of the appropriate program may prescribe.
3. Thesis
The subject of any thesis shall be approved by the Head of School and the thesis shall normally be presented before 30 November in the candidates final year of study, unless otherwise determined by the Head of School.

HONOURS DEGREES IN BUSINESS AND COMMERCE

1.1 General Requirements
A candidate for a degree with Honours shall, in the case of Commerce or Business:
- complete the requirements of the pass degree, or an equivalent degree from another university;
- include in the degree course the appropriate pass degree subjects, as set out in the program of study for each specific pass degree and described in Table II of the Master Schedule of Subjects, or equivalent subjects from another university;
- include in the degree course honours subjects specified in the specific Honours programs.
2.1 Enrolment
An application by a student to enrol for an Honours degree must be approved by the Head of School. Normally, a student will not be permitted to enrol for an Honours degree unless a minimum average grade of credit has been obtained in the pass degree subjects relevant to the field in which Honours is to be taken.
2.2 In the case of Honours programs in Commerce or Business a graduate who has been awarded an appropriate pass degree within the faculty may apply to enrol for an Honours degree provided the pass degree was awarded not more than two academic years prior to the year in which enrolment in an Honours degree is sought. Such a candidate shall comply with the requirements of the pass degree and shall complete such additional work (including pass degree subjects) as the Head of the appropriate program may prescribe.

Degree specific requirements
4.1 The Honours program in Commerce
A candidate for the degree shall:

4.1.2 obtain a minimum of 24 units of subjects specified in the program of study for the Honours degree.
4.2 The degree with Honours may be taken in the fields of Accounting, Finance or Economics.
5.1 The Honours programs in Business specialising in Tourism, Marketing, Management or Human Resource Management
A candidate for the degree shall:
5.1.1 complete the specified program of study for the Pass degree to obtain a minimum of 72 units; and
5.1.2 obtain a minimum of 24 units of subjects specified in the program of study for the Honours degree.

CERTIFICATE OF BUSINESS
1. Requirements for the completion of the course
To qualify for the award a candidate must normally have completed subjects of a minimum total value of six units in accordance with these Requirements. The normal time for completion of the Certificate is two semesters part-time.
2. Constitution of the course
The subjects shall be in accordance with the program in Business shown under Undergraduate Courses and Majors.
3. Exit status
Persons who have been awarded the Certificate of Business who subsequently enrol with credit in a higher award of the University will be required to surrender the Certificate before the higher award is conferred.
DEGREES AND CERTIFICATES IN THE CREATIVE ARTS
1.1 Application of requirements
In addition to the Faculty Award Requirements candidates must comply with the University Requirements for Undergraduate Coursework Awards listed in this Student Handbook and specific degree or certificate Award Requirements.
1.2 In exceptional circumstances the Executive Dean, where appropriate in consultation with the relevant Head of School, may dispense with or amend any requirements of or prescription by the University Requirements for Undergraduate Coursework Awards, Faculty Award Requirements and specific degree, diploma or certificate Award Requirements. Any major dispensation of the requirements should be reported to the faculty.
1.3 The Executive Dean, where appropriate in consultation with the appropriate Head of School, may permit a candidate to graduate with fewer than the stipulated units of study for an Award offered in the faculty.
2. Enrolment in awards
A person who holds an award listed in General Requirements 1.1 and 1.2 may not be a candidate for that award in the same discipline.
3. Credit
Candidates for awards of the faculty may apply to obtain credit for previous tertiary study as detailed in the Faculty Policy Statement on credit transfer and associated guidelines.
4. Available subjects
The faculty will publish annually a list of subjects available to candidates. The list appears as Table I in the Master Schedule of Subjects.
5. Coherence of degree structure
The faculty must be satisfied that the completed Award constitutes a coherent whole.
6.1 The grade of Pass Conceded
The grade of Pass Conceded may be recommended by the College of Music, Visual Arts and Theatre directly on the basis of the particular examination. This grade may also be awarded by the faculty following consideration of the candidates overall result for the year.
6.2 A candidate who is granted the grade of Pass Conceded in a subject shall, for the purposes of Requirement 6.1, be deemed to have passed the subject and shall be credited with the appropriate units, but may not enrol for a more advanced subject in any discipline requiring the first as a prerequisite except with the approval of the appropriate Head of School.
6.3 The number of units that may be credited at Pass Conceded level shall not exceed a total as determined from time to time by the faculty.
6.4 A candidate awarded the grade of Pass Conceded may apply to the Head of the School concerned for permission to attempt to convert that grade to a Pass grade. Such re-examination will not be counted towards aggregate units work load for an academic year.
6.5 All applications under Requirement 6.4 must be approved by the Executive Dean.
BACHELOR OF COMMUNICATION DESIGN
Note: A person who wishes to enrol for the degree of Bachelor of Communication Design shall be required to demonstrate at interview suitability for the course and provide a portfolio of relevant work as specified by the College of Music, Visual Arts and Theatre.
1. To qualify for the award of the Bachelor of Communication Design degree (with majors in either Graphic Design or Applied Illustration) students must successfully complete the prescribed subjects to a minimum value of 72 units in accordance with these requirements. Programs are shown under Undergraduate Courses and Majors.
1.1 The normal minimum time for completion of the degree is three years full-time or six years part-time.
1.2 The normal maximum time for completion of the degree is five years full-time or ten years part-time.
2. Credit for previous studies
Students who have been awarded a Diploma of Commercial Art of this University or an Associate Diploma of Art (Commercial Art) or similar through Queensland TAFE, or an equivalent Commercial Art or Design Diploma requiring a minimum of two years full-time study through an accredited tertiary institution, will be eligible for credit of up to 36 units towards the Bachelor of Communication Design, subject to result verification and/or a folio assessment as appropriate to the application.
2.1 Students fulfilling the criteria outlined in Requirement 2 above who have extensive and documented industry experience may, at the discretion of the Head of the College of Music, Visual Arts and Theatre, be granted up to 48 units of credit towards the Bachelor of Communication Design degree.
BACHELOR OF COMMUNICATION DESIGN WITH HONOURS
1. Entry to honours degree course
A person who has qualified for the award of the degree of Bachelor of Communication Design (the pass degree) may enrol for the Honours degree in either Research or Practice if that person has:
1.1 for Research, obtained in the pass degree the grade of Distinction or better in a research-based and practice-based communication design subject specified by the Head of the College; or
1.2 for Practice, obtained in the pass degree the grade of Distinction or better in a practice-based communication design subject and the grade of Credit or better in a research-based communication design subject specified by the Head of the College; and
1.3 has obtained the approval of the Head of the College.
2. A person who holds a degree of this or another University deemed by the faculty to be equivalent to the degree of Bachelor of Communication Design may be permitted to enrol for the Honours degree where the Head of the College is satisfied that the degree justifies candidature and that the person has met the equivalent of the requirements specified in 1.1 or 1.2 above.
3. Requirements for the degree
The normal minimum time for completion of the degree is one year of full-time study or two years of part-time study. The maximum period is two years of full-time study and four years of part-time study.
4. The program for either Research or Practice shall total 24 units and be as shown under Undergraduate Courses and Majors.
5. Examination
Except with the approval of the faculty a candidate shall not be permitted to present more than once for the final examination.
BACHELOR OF COMMUNITY WELFARE BACHELOR OF VISUAL ARTS

BACHELOR OF MUSIC

2.2 All candidates, unless exempted by the Head of the College of Music, Visual Arts and Theatre, will take part, as prescribed, in choral and/or ensemble rehearsals and performances.
BACHELOR OF MUSIC WITH HONOURS
1. Requirements for completion of degree course
To qualify for the degree a candidate must have completed subjects of a minimum total value of 96 units in accordance with these Requirements. The normal time for completion of the degree is four years of full-time study.
2. Constitution of the degree
The subjects selected shall be in accordance with the program in Bachelor of Music with Honours shown under Undergraduate Courses and Majors.
3.1 Entry to Honours degree course
A candidate enrolled for the degree of Bachelor of Music may apply to enrol for the degree of Bachelor of Music with Honours in either:
3.1.1 research, if that person has obtained at least a distinction in a research-based music subject and a distinction in a practice-based music subjects as specified by the Head of College;
3.1.2 practice, if that person has obtained at least a distinction in a practice-based music subject and a credit in a research-based music subject as specified by the Head of College.
3.2 The faculty may permit entry to the Honours degree by a person who holds the Bachelor of Music degree of this or another University, or who holds an equivalent degree, where it is satisfied that the degree justifies candidature for Honours. Candidates entering after graduation shall complete such conditions of Requirement 2 as the Head of College may specify.
3.3 The subjects selected shall be in accordance with the majors in Music with Honours shown under Undergraduate Courses and Majors.
4. Resubmission for Final Honours
A candidate shall not be permitted to present more than once for the final examination in the same honours discipline, but may be permitted by the examiners to resubmit the honours thesis or comparable prescribed work.
5. Award of the degree
In the award of Honours, consideration shall be given to the candidates record throughout the course.
BACHELOR OF MUSIC BACHELOR OF EDUCATION
This course provides a qualification that leads to registration as a teacher of classroom music and instrumental music.
1. Administration of the degree
The joint pass degree of Bachelor of Music-Bachelor of Education shall be administered by the Faculty of Law, Business and the Creative Arts and the Faculty of Arts, Education and Social Sciences. The respective faculties will be responsible for the administration relating to their degree and subjects.
2.1 Admission to the degree
Entry to the joint degree is restricted to students preparing for secondary teaching who pass the audition, test and interview as specified by the College of Music, Visual Arts and Theatre from time to time; and who gain entry to the course through QTAC, or transfer with a Credit level average in their first year of university studies in a different degree program.
2.2 Re-enrolment in level 2 of the joint degree shall require a Credit level average in the first year of the joint degree.
3.1 Requirements for the degree
A candidate for the degree must fulfil the requirements of the relevant program shown under Undergraduate Courses and Majors, obtaining a minimum of 108 units.
3.2 Candidates other than those granted advanced status by way of requirement 4 shall normally pursue full-time studies for a minimum period of four and a half years.
3.3 The maximum period of candidature shall be twice the period specified in 3.2 above.
4. Advanced status and credit for other studies
A candidate may be granted advanced status upon conditions determined by the relevant faculty. The maximum credit allowed shall be in accordance with the published policy of the relevant faculty.
5.1 Professional experience in degree
All candidates without previous approved teacher education shall be required to undertake professional experience as prescribed by the Faculty of Arts, Education and Social Sciences.
5.2 Candidates may be required to undertake professional experience in a school away from their normal place of residence, at their own expense.
6. Withdrawal from the joint degree course
A candidate who has partially completed the requirements of the course of study prescribed for the completion of the joint degree and who then withdraws from the joint degree shall consult the relevant Executive Dean on the requirements for completion of the degree of Bachelor of Music or Bachelor of Education.

BACHELOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY
1. A person who wishes to enrol for the degree of Bachelor of Photography shall be required to provide a portfolio of photographic work as specified by the College of Music, Visual Arts and Theatre from time to time and to demonstrate suitability for the course at an interview.
2. To qualify for the award of the Bachelor of Photography degree students must successfully complete the prescribed subjects to a minimum value of 72 units in accordance with these requirements. A program is shown under Undergraduate Courses and Majors.
2.1 The normal minimum time for completion of the degree is three years of full-time study or six years of part-time study.
2.2 The normal maximum time for completion of the degree is five years of full-time study or 10 years of part-time study.
3. Credit for previous studies
Students who have been awarded an Associate Diploma of Arts (Applied Photography), or similar from Queensland TAFE; an Associate Diploma of Arts (Applied Photography), Diploma of Photography, or Bachelor of Visual Arts with a Photography major from this University prior to 1998; or a similar award from another tertiary institution; will be eligible for credit of up to 36 units towards the Bachelor of Photography degree.
3.1 Students holding one of the awards outlined in Requirement 3 who have extensive industry experience may at the discretion of the Head of College of Music, Visual Arts and Theatre, be granted up to 48 units of credit towards the Bachelor of Photography degree.
3.2 Students holding an Associate Diploma of Arts (Applied Photography) or Diploma of Photography from this University granted after 1994, may on surrender of that award be granted up to 48 units of credit towards the Bachelor of Photography degree.
BACHELOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY WITH HONOURS
1. Entry to honours degree course
A person who has qualified for the award of the degree of Bachelor of Photography (the pass degree) may enrol for the Honours degree in either Research or Practice if that person has:
1.1 for Research, obtained in the pass degree the grade of Distinction or better in a research-based and practice-based photography subject specified by the Head of the College; or
1.2 for Practice, obtained in the pass degree the grade of Distinction or better in a practice-based photography subject and the grade of Credit or better in a research-based photography subject specified by the Head of the College; and
1.3 has obtained the approval of the Head of the College.
2. A person who holds a degree of this or another University deemed by the faculty to be equivalent to the degree of Bachelor of Photography may be permitted to enrol for the Honours degree where the Head of the College is satisfied that the degree justifies candidature and that the person has met the equivalent of the requirements specified in 1.1 or 1.2 above.
3. Requirements for the degree
The normal minimum time for completion of the degree is one year of full-time study or two years of part-time study. The maximum period is two years of full-time study and four years of part-time study.
4. The program for either Research or Practice shall total 24 units and is shown under Undergraduate Courses and Majors.
5. Examination
Except with the approval of the faculty a candidate shall not be permitted to present more than once for the final examination.
BACHELOR OF THEATRE
Note: A person who wishes to enrol for the degree of Bachelor of Theatre shall be required to demonstrate, at interview and/or audition, suitability for the course.
1. Requirements for completion of degree course
To qualify for the degree a candidate must normally have completed subjects of a minimum total value of 72 units in accordance with these Requirements provided that:
1.1 the normal minimum time for completion of the degree is three years of full-time study; and
1.2 the maximum time for completion of the degree is six years of full-time study.
2. Constitution of the degree
The subjects selected shall be in accordance with the selected major in Theatre shown under Undergraduate Courses and Majors.
3. Theatre practice
All candidates enrolled for the degree of Bachelor of Theatre will be required to undertake theatre practice as prescribed by the College of Music, Visual Arts and Theatre.
BACHELOR OF THEATRE WITH HONOURS
1. To qualify for the degree a candidate must normally have completed subjects of a minimum total value of 96 units in accordance with these Requirements. The normal time for completion of the degree is four years of full-time study.
2. Constitution of the degree
The subjects selected shall be in accordance with the selected major in Theatre with Honours shown under Undergraduate Courses and Majors.
3.1 Entry to honours degree course
A person enrolled for the degree of Bachelor of Theatre may be invited by the Head of the College of Music, Visual Arts and Theatre to enrol for the degree of Bachelor of Theatre with Honours in either:
3.1.1 research, if that person has obtained at least a distinction in both a research-based and a practice-based theatre subject as specified by the Head of College;
3.1.2 practice, if that person has obtained at least a distinction in a practice-based theatre subject and a credit in a research-based theatre subject as specified by the Head of College.
3.2 A person who holds or is eligible to hold the degree of Bachelor of Theatre of this or another University, or who holds an equivalent degree, may be permitted to enrol in the Honours course where the Head of the College of Music, Visual Arts and Theatre is satisfied that the degree justifies candidature for Honours. College requirements include a provision that candidates entering after graduation shall complete such requirements as in 2 above, as the Head of the College of Music, Visual Arts and Theatre may specify.
4. Resubmission for final honours
A candidate shall not be permitted to present more than once for the final examination in the same Honours discipline, but may be permitted by the examiners to re-submit the Honours thesis or comparable prescribed work.
5. In the award of Honours, consideration shall be given to the candidates record throughout the course.
BACHELOR OF VISUAL ARTS
Note: A person who wishes to enrol for the degree of Bachelor of Visual Arts shall be required to demonstrate at interview suitability for the course and provide a portfolio of relevant work.
1. Requirements for completion of degree course
To qualify for the degree a candidate must have completed subjects of a minimum total value of 72 units in accordance with these Requirements provided that:
1.1 the normal minimum time for completion of the degree is three years of full-time study; and
1.2 the maximum time for completion of the degree is six years of full-time study.
2. Constitution of degree
The subjects selected shall be in accordance with the course details in Visual Arts shown under Undergraduate Courses and Majors.
BACHELOR OF VISUAL ARTS WITH HONOURS

The subjects selected shall be in accordance with the program in Visual Arts with Honours (Research), or Visual Arts with Honours (Professional Practice) shown under Undergraduate Courses and Majors.
3.1 Entry to honours degree course
A candidate enrolled for the degree of Bachelor of Visual Arts may be invited by the Head of the College of Music, Visual Arts and Theatre to enrol for the degree of Bachelor of Visual Arts with Honours (Research) if that candidate has obtained a minimum of 72 units by successful completion of the level 1, level 2 and level 3 subjects prescribed in the program, provided that the grade of at least distinction has been obtained in the following level 3 subjects of Visual Arts Practice and Art History and Theory; and that the grade of at least credit has been obtained in the level 3 subject of Drawing.
3.2 A candidate enrolled for the degree of Bachelor of Visual Arts may be invited by the Head of the College to enrol for the degree of Bachelor of Visual Arts with Honours (Professional Practice) if that candidate has obtained a minimum of 72 units by successful completion of the level 1, level 2 and level 3 subjects prescribed in the program, provided that the grade of at least distinction has been obtained in the following level 3 subject of Visual Arts Practice and that the grade of at least credit has been obtained in the level 3 subjects of Drawing and Art History and Theory.
3.3 A person who holds the degree of Bachelor of Visual Arts of this or another University, or who holds an equivalent qualification, may be permitted to enrol in the Honours course where the Head of the College is satisfied that the qualification justifies candidature in one of the honours specialisations currently offered by Visual Arts. Requirements include a provision that candidates entering after graduation shall complete such specifications of Requirement 2 of the Bachelor of Visual Arts as the Head of College may specify.
4. Resubmission for final honours
A candidate shall not be permitted to present more than once for the final examination in the same honours discipline, but may be permitted by the examiners to resubmit the Honours thesis or comparable prescribed work.
5. Award of the degree
In the award of Honours, consideration shall be given to the candidates record throughout the course.
CERTIFICATE OF DESKTOP PUBLISHING
1. To qualify for the award a candidate must normally have completed subjects of a minimum total value of six units in accordance with these Requirements. The normal time for completion of the Certificate is two semesters of part-time study.
2. The subjects selected shall be in accordance with the program in Desktop Publishing shown under Undergraduate Courses and Majors.
3. Persons who have been awarded the Certificate of Desktop Publishing who subsequently enrol with credit in a higher award of the University will be required to surrender the Certificate before the higher award is conferred.
CERTIFICATE OF MUSIC PRACTICE
1. Requirements for the completion of the course
To qualify for the award a candidate must normally have completed subjects of a minimum total value of six units in accordance with these Requirements. The normal time for completion of the Certificate is two semesters of part-time study.
2. Constitution of the course
The subjects selected shall be in accordance with the program in Music Practice shown under Undergraduate Courses and Majors.
3. Exit status
Persons who have been awarded the Certificate of Music Practice who subsequently enrol with credit in a higher award of the University will be required to surrender the Certificate before the higher award is conferred.
CERTIFICATE OF PHOTOGRAPHY

A person who wishes to enrol for the Certificate of Photography shall be required to meet the admission requirements as specified by the College of Music, Visual Arts and Theatre from time to time.
2. To qualify for the award a candidate must normally have completed subjects of a minimum total value of six units in accordance with these requirements. The normal time for completion of the certificate is two semesters part-time. The subjects selected shall be in accordance with the program in Photography shown under Undergraduate Courses and Majors.
3. Persons who have been awarded the Certificate of Photography who subsequently enrol with credit in a higher award of the university will be required to surrender the Certificate before the higher award is conferred.
CERTIFICATE OF PIANO ACCOMPANIMENT
1. Requirements for completion of the course
A person who wishes to enrol for the Certificate of Piano Accompaniment must have successfully completed Performing Music 1 MU1401 or equivalent; or provide through audition or similar process, evidence of a commensurate level of keyboard skills..
2. To qualify for the award, a candidate must normally have completed subjects of a minimum total value of eight units in accordance with these Requirements. The normal time for completion of the Certificate is two years of part-time study. The subjects selected shall be in accordance with the program in Piano Accompaniment shown under Undergraduate Courses and Majors.
3. Persons who have been awarded the Certificate of Piano Accompaniment who subsequently enrol with credit in a higher award of the University will be required to surrender the Certificate before the higher award is conferred.
CERTIFICATE OF THEATRE SKILLS
1. Requirements for the completion of the course
To qualify for the award a candidate must normally have completed subjects of a minimum total value of six units in accordance with these Requirements. The normal time for completion of the Certificate is two semesters of part-time study.
2. Constitution of the course
The subjects selected shall be in accordance with the program in Theatre Skills shown under Undergraduate Courses and Majors.
3. Exit status
Persons who have been awarded the Certificate of Theatre Skills who subsequently enrol with credit in a higher award of the University will be required to surrender the Certificate before the higher award is conferred.
CERTIFICATE OF VISUAL ARTS FUNDAMENTALS
1. Requirements for the completion of the course
To qualify for the award a candidate must have completed subjects of a minimum total value of six units in accordance with these Requirements. The normal time for completion of the Certificate is two semesters of part-time study.
2. Constitution of the course
The subjects shall be in accordance with the program in Visual Arts Fundamentals shown under Undergraduate Courses and Majors.
3. Exit status
Persons who have been awarded the Certificate of Visual Arts Fundamentals and subsequently enrol with credit in a higher award of the University will be required to surrender the Certificate before the higher award is conferred.
CERTIFICATE OF VISUAL ARTS PRACTICE
