Action for Social Justice Project

Second semester by flexible delivery. Also offered at Mackay campus.

Students will undertake an independent project in an area of special interest.

Learning Objectives:

  1. to develop a social justice approach in an area of specialisation of particular interest and importance to each individual student;
  2. to integrate theory and practice for the particular specialisation;
  3. to undertake a small independent study and action project.

Assessment by project proposal (30%); project outcome and commentary (70%). The specific outcome for the project will be negotiated individually and may vary according to the nature of the project. Possible options include: a research report (3,000 words); written paper (3,000 words); creative work (e.g. radio program, photoessay) with written commentary; scholarly journal; submission for a service; resource directory with written commentary.
