Action for Social Justice

26 hours seminars and 12 other contact hours or the equivalent in mixed mode on-campus delivery, negotiated individual contact. Full year.

Staff: Dr J Thomson (Townsville campus); Ms R Lynn (Cairns campus).

Students will explore an area of specialist interest in first semester and identify a project which they wish to develop in second semester with guidance from a staff person who has a particular interest in that area.

Learning Objectives:

  1. to develop a social justice approach in an area of specialisation;
  2. to integrate theory and practice for that particular specialisation;
  3. to undertake a small independent study and action project.

Assessment by first semester assignment (40%); student developed assessment (60%).
