Nursing Research B

Available only to level 3 nursing science students.

The subject concentrates on basic descriptive and inferential statistics necessary to understand published research. Cross-cultural aspects of research are discussed. Methods of critiquing published research are included, as is the writing of research proposals.

Learning Objectives:

  1. demonstrate an understanding of statistical information in published research;
  2. develop skills for evaluating published research and its applicability to practice;
  3. demonstrate knowledge of writing research proposals and reports.

Assessment by assignment (60%); examination (40%).
