Preparation for Practice

Prerequisites: NS2011 NS2213 PP2231

20 lectures, 20 tutorials, 160 hours clinical placement. Second semester.

Available only to level 3 nursing science students.

This subject enables students to extend and consolidate their knowledge in a chosen area of nursing. Completion of the learning activities necessitates access to appropriate clinical settings.

Learning Objectives:

  1. discuss quality improvement functions as components of the nurse’s responsibility to the profession and to the institution;
  2. identify factors critical to the implementation of effective quality improvement within nursing services;
  3. individual objectives for each student but will be focused around meeting the ANCI competencies.

On-course assessment (100%).
