Complex function theory, contour integration, residues, integral transforms.

Learning Objectives:

  1. appreciation of the elegance and power of complex functions, in the representation and solution of mathematical problems from various disciplines;
  2. introduction to the application of symbolic algebra packages to analytic function theory.

Assessment by coursework (tests and assignments) (40%); a three-hour examination (60%).
