Available to Bachelor of Indigenous Studies students and other undergraduate students.

Learning Objectives:

  1. gain a deeper understanding of the historical, political, social and cultural frameworks of identified Aboriginal communities;
  2. gain the ability to conduct appropriate consultation with Aboriginal communities;
  3. gain an understanding of protocols in conducting consultations within Aboriginal communities;
  4. develop greater conceptual insights into the processes of Indigenous epistemological and ontological perspectives;
  5. develop insights into ethical processes in relation to research within Aboriginal communities.

Assessment by attendance and participation (10%); field report (20%); personal journal (35%); major assignment (35%).
