Sample Data Systems: Classical analysis and design of sample data systems, Z-transform system modelling and the effects of sampling
Modern Controller Design: State models of systems, controllability, observability, state feedback controller design
Programmable Logic Controllers: PLCs in modern manufacturing systems.
Learning Objectives:
- demonstrate a competence in assessing and improving the dynamic performance of sample data systems using classical and modern control system analysis and design techniques Applying PLCs in typical industrial manufacturing systems.
Assessment by examination (50%-70%); on-course assessment (30%-50%).
