26 lectures, 39 hours practicals. First semester.
This unit focuses on advanced multimedia development using contemporary multimedia development tools and includes, developing multimedia for the web, multimedia scripting, designing and developing interactive multimedia interfaces, incorporating graphics and animations into multimedia projects, synchronising different media types, event handling in multimedia and object-oriented concepts.
Learning Objectives:
- understand multimedia development using contemporary development tools;
- understand developing multimedia for the web;
- be able to effectively use scripting in multimedia to develop multimedia projects;
- understand the procedures and process for developing effective multimedia interfaces;
- understand the procedures for synchronising different media types in a multimedia presentation;
- be able to create multimedia animations;
- understand object-oriented concepts in multimedia;
- understand events in multimedia.
Assessment in this subject involves significant on-course assessment in the form of assignments during the semester, a major project and an examination at the end of the semester during the official examination period. Full details about the assessment will be handed out in class during the first week of the semester and posted on the web.
