The principles, use and management of a database in a business context.

Learning Objectives:

  1. describe what a database management system is and how it organises data;
  2. explain the principles of data analysis and data modelling used to design a database;
  3. identify and describe the requirements for creating a database environment, including issues relevant to an accountant/auditor;
  4. demonstrate their ability to design a database and use a database language.

Assessment by class test/s (20%); assignment/s (10%); final examination (70%).
