120 hours practicals. Second semester.

Available to BT students only.

Students will undertake modules in either Acting or Production.

Acting

Voice — Voice and Multi Media - the focus of this unit will be on developing the actor’s vocal versatility, through the experience of and skills development in multi media forms.

Movement and related theatre studies — students undertake two modules which may include Makeup, Fencing, Ballroom Dancing, Combat Fighting or Singing.

Production

Students undertake secondment with a professional company or venue. Length and appropriateness to be negotiated with course coordinator.

Learning Objectives:

  1. to develop models for learning which mirror professional practice in order that students may prepare for entry into the profession or for further study in the discipline.

Assessment by:

Acting

Voice: voice journal (10%); multi-media and casting projects (40%); Movement: process work (25%); performance project (25%).

Production

Written report (3,000 words) (60%); supervisor’s report (40%).
