Psychological characteristics of athletes in various sports, the role of anxiety and stress in sport performance, motivational states affecting performance and the social dynamics of team performance.
Learning Objectives:
- to understand human behaviour in sport using mainstream psychological theory and established research methods;
- to be able to facilitate athletic performance through application of these theories.
Assessment by a three-hour end of semester examination (60%); on-course tutorial assignments (20%); practical (20%).
