26 lectures, 13 tutorials, 46 hours practicals. Second semester.
Available to level 2 sport and exercise science students, physical education students and other students.

This subject is designed to provide the skills and knowledge necessary for effective evaluation in the laboratory and field. The practical application of various protocols that the sport scientist may wish to use in evaluating physical fitness and sports skills will be examined.
Learning Objectives:
- to understand the basic concepts of test evaluation and selection;
- to demonstrate an ability to construct and administer testing sessions;
- to evaluate the scientific basis of the various test protocols;
- to demonstrate familiarity with testing procedures for all populations.
Assessment by a three-hour end of semester examination (50%); on-course tutorial assignments (20%); practical (30%).
