Advanced Practicum

300 hours practicals. Second semester.

Available only to MPsych (Clinical&Health) students who are transferring to a PhD or undertaking a combined MPsych/PhD (Clinical&Health) program.

The content of this practicum and the time frame is flexible and may involve work such as the development of a new technique, advanced training and evaluation of a particular form of therapy, or development or evaluation of a program. It must involve client contact and the time commitment specified is for contact time only and does not take into account preparation or other necessary background time.

Learning Objectives:

  1. the development of advanced skills in the application of psychological methods to the applied situations;
  2. enhanced levels of responsibility, independence and professionalism in the undertaking of an extended applied project.

Assessment will be on a pass/fail basis based on the evaluation of performance by supervisors during the practicum (100%)
