Rural and Remote Health Practice 2

Flexible delivery. First and second semester.
Available to postgraduate students undertaking a rural and remote health course.

In this subject students will design and implement strategies to meet their learning needs identified in NS5103. Students will negotiate their learning project and expected outcomes demonstrating primary health care principles in practice. The concepts of health promotion, program planning and evaluation will be introduced and students will draw on these in their project. In association with the teaching staff students will negotiate a clinical placement where necessary.
Learning Objectives:
- design and implement strategies for improving the students’ knowledge of professional practice in a rural and remote context;
- development of a health promotion strategy for community members;
- implementation of a health promotion strategy;
- evaluation of the outcomes of the health promotion strategy.
On-course assessment (100%).
