Environmental Remote Sensing

26 lectures, 39 hours practicals. Second semester intensive block mode.

This subject introduces the student to a variety of digital image analysis methods applicable to environmental data. These include spectral enhancement, geometric enhancement, spatial enhancement, registration, multivariate analysis and classification.

Learning Objectives:

  1. have a working knowledge of the underlying theory of remote sensing;
  2. be able to apply this theory to digital image analysis;
  3. be able to analyse and model remotely sensed data and combine with other types of spatial data.

Assessment by project (100%).
