Prerequisites: FR3122 and 8 units level 2 and 12 units level 3 approved Modern Languages subjects with substantial achievement in level 3 subjects

Available to students who have completed FR3122 and eight units at level 2 and 12 units at level 3 of approved Modern Languages subjects, provided they have substantial achievement in all the above level 3 subjects.

Translation theory and practice including cross-cultural considerations and the role of translators.
Learning Objectives:
- make students aware of the theoretical and practical issues involved in translating;
- improve students’ competence in reading and writing French.
Assessment by one 3,000 word assignment (65%); one 1,500 word assignment (35%).
