Available to students who have passed FR2122 or FR3002 or have an equivalent knowledge of French.

General French language appropriate to the objective outlined below.
Learning Objectives:
- to take students to a level approaching minimum “vocational” proficiency (a notional 3- on the ISLPR scale). Students will be able to interact with French speakers with little allowance being made for slower than usual responses or inaccuracies of expression. Skills will include a growing ability to pick different registers, both in spoken and written French.
Assessment by in-class tests and presentations and/or end-of-semester examinations: listening (25%); speaking (25%); reading (25%); writing (25%).
