This subject is an integrated study organised round the choices facing practitioners as policy developers. It examines models of development and evaluation of curricula through a curriculum development activity.
Learning Objectives:
- to give students experience in viewing curriculum through the theoretical constructs available;
- to provide students with a number of curriculum development and evaluation techniques appropriate to classroom needs;
- to help students to learn to work on curriculum issues cooperatively and collaboratively with colleagues.
Assessment by an essay of 1,000 words that is a critical analysis of current curriculum development proposals (40%); a curriculum development task related to current developments (60%).
