Available to BEd (Human Movement) students only.

This subject examines modern issues relating to physical education curriculum. A special emphasis is placed on outdoor education and school sport.

Learning Objectives:

  1. examine trends in physical education curriculum;
  2. explore and develop an understanding of outdoor education;
  3. explore and develop an understanding of school sport;
  4. complete a thorough investigation of current physical education syllabi.

Assessment by field research project (2,500 words) (60%); a two-hour examination (40%).
