Major topics include review of fractions and decimals and percents; review of algebraic skills; properties of planar shapes; properties of three dimensional shapes; scientific notation as applicable to measurement; angles; right angle triangles; trigonometry.

Learning Objectives:

  1. an understanding of the skills as these are applied especially to areas of geometry, trigonometry and measurement;
  2. a development of confidence and competence in reading, writing and speaking the language of mathematics at both the academic and personal levels.

Assessment by one project (20%); mid-semester test (30%); end of semester examination (40%); attendance and participation (10%).
