Subject Description

    This is a core subject for students enrolled in the Master of Social Work degree. This subject is aimed at assisting students to gain an advanced understanding of an integrated body of knowledge regarding research in Social Work, including research design, ethics, theories, principles, research methods, and statistical techniques. Students will have the opportunity to investigate and apply topics, worldviews, methodologies, methods and processes for social work research. They will plan and design a social work research project.

Learning Outcomes

  • apply an integrated body of knowledge for research in Social Work to produce a research proposal
  • identify, appraise and discuss a body of literature to create a comprehensive literature review
  • defend the use of specific research methods in social work research
