Subject Description

    This subject will explore the application of scientific principles and techniques to assist coaches and athletes to evaluate their performance, either at an individual level or within the context of a team environment. Specifically, students will design, deliver and interpret safe, effective and evidence-based sport science interventions for service users in a collaborative manner with other allied health and coaching staff.

Learning Outcomes

  • Critically analyse the demands of a sport and the capabilities of athletes within multidisciplinary sport settings
  • Identify and evaluate a range of valid and reliable methods, tools and techniques relevant to sport science practice
  • Develop sport science testing protocols or interventions to collate and critically evaluate data to identify meaningful outcomes
  • Translate outcomes into meaningful information through the application of appropriate communication techniques and interactions with service users, colleagues and other health professionals

Special Assessment Requirements
