Subject Description

    This subject will introduce students to the concept of healthy ageing using several inter-professional theories/frameworks together with consideration of rural, cultural and population factors. Students will gain skills that will enable them to foster healthy ageing when working with clients within their own discipline and as part of an inter-disciplinary team.

Learning Outcomes

  • Critically evaluate your own experiences around fostering healthy ageing
  • Critically appraise the evidence and approach to fostering healthy ageing across your profession
  • Create and communicate innovative solutions to foster healthy ageing, through the application of relevant concepts, theories and frameworks, to professional practice within your own discipline and as part of an inter-disciplinary team

Subject Assessment

  • Oral > Presentation 1 - (50%) - Individual
  • Written > Reflection/reflective task 1 - (15%) - Individual
  • Performance/Practice/Product > Portfolio - (35%) - Individual

Special Assessment Requirements

Passing requirements: complete and submit all assessment items, achieve a cumulative score of at least 50% after the application of late penalties.
