Subject Description

    This subject is one of two elective capstones offered through the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Program for Psychology. It is designed to integrate knowledge and skills developed throughout the degree, requiring to students to apply their learning in a practical workplace setting by undertaking an approved industry placement. Students are required to complete a minimum 100 hours of productive work with relevance to applied psychological science. Students will gain an invaluable first taste of job roles that leverage applied psychology, honing their own career plans and aspirations while further developing their skills.

Learning Outcomes

Subject Assessment

  • Oral > Presentation 1 - (25%) - Individual
  • Written > Learning plan - (10%) - Individual

  • Written > Reflection/reflective task 1 - (25%) - Individual
  • Performance/Practice/Product > Internship performance - Individual

Special Assessment Requirements

In order to pass the subject, students must: (1) achieve a satisfactory assessment from their supervisor, (2) demonstrate completion of at least 100 hours of work, (3) achieve a cumulative score of at least 50% after the application of any penalties such as late penalties
