This subject examines a range of infectious diseases, and will focus upon the identification, management and prevention of these ailments. Students will also develop an understanding of the principles of antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) in clinical settings. The subject will also teach a systematic way to assess the clinical appropriateness within relevant legislative frameworks for prescription and non-prescription medications, complementary and alternate medicines (CAMS) and the mechanisms of drug action and interactions.
