Subject Description

    This subject provides a detailled introduction into the evidence and methods used in pharmacy-focused research. It covers access to and critical evaluation of the literature, the design and conduct of research utilising different methodologies, the handling and analysis of data, and the reporting of results. Aspects such as the safe and ethical conduct of research, generation and testing of hypotheses, choice of methodology - including quantitative, qualitative and mixed-methods, and an introduction to the statistical methods used in experimental data analysis are covered. This subject also includes an introduction into the experimental use of medicines through clinical trials and the pharmacist's role in this area of practice

  • Apply knowledge and skills in the critical evaluation and review of literature
