Subject Description

    In this subject, students will consolidate and build on foundational skills and knowledge surrounding occupation and occupational therapy. Students will extend their knowledge of occupational therapy practice by examining the therapeutic process and the value of developing professional partnerships with individuals and communities, with a particular emphasis on rural and remote contexts.

Learning Outcomes

  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills in developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships to facilitate positive professional relationships with individuals and communities
  • Critically analyse and apply key concepts surrounding occupational justice and injustice, with a particular focus on regional, rural and remote settings
  • Apply the occupational therapy practice process to the enablement of occupational performance, participation and engagement

Subject Assessment

  • Oral > Presentation 1 - (30%) - Group
  • Participation > Class participation - Individual
  • Written > Case study analysis - (50%) - Individual
  • Written > Reflection/reflective task 1 - (20%) - Individual

Special Assessment Requirements

Passing requirements: complete and submit all assessment items; achieve at least 50% for the case study analysis; achieve a cumulative score of at least 50% after the application of any penalties such as late penalties; participate in at least 80% of scheduled tutorials.
