Subject Description

    This subject will equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to create, manage, and leverage effective professional portfolios to enhance their career advancement prospects. Through a blend of theoretical insights and practical applications, a well-organised portfolio will be developed to serve as a powerful tool for self-reflection, professional development, and career progression.

Learning Outcomes

  • Examine the purpose, components, and significance of a well-structured professional portfolio in the context of career advancement in healthcare
  • Critically assess and reflect on professional experiences, identifying areas of strength and areas for growth, to formulate a continual professional development plan
  • Prepare high-quality evidence supporting professional development, accomplishments, and contributions made to healthcare practice, education, and/or research
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills through the creation of a clear, concise, and visually appealing professional portfolio showcasing professional skills, experiences, and achievements relevant to health professionals

Subject Assessment

  • Oral > Presentation 1 - (35%) - Individual
  • Written > Reflection/reflective task 1 - (15%) - Individual
  • Performance/Practice/Product > Portfolio - (50%) - Individual

Special Assessment Requirements
