Subject Description

    This module examines the role of performance evaluation and management in supporting the strategic objectives of the organisation and how an adequate system in this area can contribute to driving employee performance. The module will equip participants with the necessary skills and a critical understanding of the performance review process, as well as its challenges.

Learning Outcomes

  • develop, implement and facilitate performance management plans
  • critically evaluate the advantages of various theories, toolkits and practices related to performance evaluation, appraisal and reward process
  • appraise the importance of setting goals and components of performance management systems aligned to an organisation's mission and strategic objectives

Subject Assessment

  • Written > Examination (centrally administered) - (40%) - Individual
  • Oral > Presentation 1 - (30%) - Individual
  • Written > Case study analysis - (30%) - Individual
