Subject Description

    This subject examines sustainability from an enterprise perspective. It discusses the role enterprises play in ensuring a sustainable future, including achievement of UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). Various issues related to management of economic, environmental and socio-cultural dimensions of sustainability are reviewed. Frameworks of assessment, communication and reporting of sustainability are explored and applied to particular cases. This subject prepares students to be ethical leaders and responsible global citizens.

Learning Outcomes

  • understand relationships between sustainability, UN SDGs, government policies and enterprise strategies
  • evaluate impacts of sustainability decisions on an enterprise, broader community and global issues
  • examine and apply contemporary approaches to measuring and reporting the outcomes of enterprise sustainability strategies
  • implement sustainability into enterprise operations and design a sustainability monitoring system

  • Written > Project report - (50%) - Individual
