Subject Description

    Introduction to personal property law, the law of sale of goods, cheques; the law of agency and bailment.

Learning Outcomes

  • students will gain a thorough understanding of the laws relating to personal property, sale of goods, negotiable instruments (Cheques), agency and bailment in Australia
  • students will develop problem-solving skills in relation to these matters
  • students will gain a thorough understanding of a person's rights in relation to personal property including cheques, of the rights of sellers/buyers, the duties and liabilities of principals and agents and bailors and bailees both at common law and under statute

  • Written > Examination (centrally administered) - (60%) - Individual
  • Written > Test/Quiz 1 - (20%) - Individual
  • Written > Test/Quiz 2 - (20%) - Individual
