Subject Description

    Elements and terms of a contract.

Learning Outcomes

  • explain and apply the principles of the Law of Contract in Australia to solve problems and respond to a range of practical scenarios
  • critique and apply theories and concepts that underpin the Law of Contract
  • evaluate and apply the legal principles associated with contract formalities, equitable estoppel and contract terms

Subject Assessment

  • Written > Examination (centrally administered) - (50%) - Individual
  • Written > Problem task - (50%) - Individual

Special Assessment Requirements

Tutorial attendance is mandatory in this subject. A student who fails to attend at least 70% must meet with the Associate Dean of Learning and Teaching and provide evidence as to why he or she should be permitted to sit the final exam or submit the final assessment task.
