Subject Description

    This subject aims to equip students with a broad overview of how IT works, how to use it and how it affects the world and our surroundings. Hands-on skills in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint are also imparted to introduce data manipulation, analysis and presentation. An understanding of the how IT is being used in business and organizations will also be included to help prepare students for the working world.

Learning Outcomes

  • recommend the best possible solution and communicate it to the client via MS Word and MS Powerpoint
  • apply foundational knowledge of IT principles and concepts to practical scenarios
  • create charts and utilize Pivot tables in MS Excel to present and analyze data
  • format documents, insert tables and charts from MS Excel, and utilize headers and footers to create professional documents
  • utilize MS Powerpoint to create impactful presentations, including the ability to insert materials from MS Word and MS Excel, and utilize animations, transitions, and videos to enhance presentation effectiveness
  • analyse for possible solutions that would best address clients' needs e.g. a business scenario
