Subject Description

    This subject is designed to build the toolkit of a modern zoologist and ecologist, which can we used in a range of areas in applied field biology. You will learn the basics of field data collection, using a variety of modern tools and techniques, and you will learn how to how to generate and record data of various types and to interpret the data that comes from different data sources.

Learning Outcomes

  • critically think about, assess and apply techniques used in research
  • efficiently sample and manage data from sampling
  • demonstrate an understanding of the skills required for zoologists and ecologists to conduct fieldwork

Subject Assessment

  • Written > Field report - (60%) - Individual
  • Written > Lab/Practical report - (40%) - Individual
