Subject Description

    This subject provides an opportunity for students to be exposed to business practices in a foreign country within the Indo-Pacific region. Through this subject, students will develop a greater understanding of the region, gain insights into business operations across politically, economically and socio-culturally diverse environments, and consider contributions businesses make to communities and global economies. Students will also acquire skills that will assist them in becoming more effective intercultural communicators. In this subject, students are required to engage in excursions and field trips.

Learning Outcomes

  • Critically analyse and evaluate business issues and practices in socio-culturally diverse international contexts
  • Utilise cultural insights to evaluate the key challenges of operating businesses effectively and sustainably in particular regions
  • Demonstrate a capacity for personal reflection and self-development in relation to international business practice

Subject Assessment

  • Oral > Presentation 1 - (20%) - Individual
  • Written > Project report - (50%) - Individual
  • Written > Proposal - (30%) - Individual
