Subject Description
- This subject examines the professional values and ethics that underpin social work and social welfare practice to enhance critically reflective, ethical decision making in complex professional contexts
Learning Outcomes
- explain and critically analyse ethical theory and alternative philosophical perspectives on the nature of ethics
- critically reflect on and evaluate actions and outcomes of ethical decision-making
- propose professional solutions to complex value conflicts and ethical dilemmas through the critical analysis and application of ethical decision making frameworks and principles
Subject Assessment
- Written > Case study analysis - (50%) - Individual
- Written > Critical appraisal/review - (50%) - Individual
