Subject Description

    This subject is designed to provide the skills and knowledge necessary for independent research of sport and exercise science and clinical exercise physiology practice including literature reviewing, oral and written presentation.

Learning Outcomes

  • Demonstrate skills required for independent study and research in at least one sport and exercise science or clinical exercise physiology discipline area
  • Critically review, analyse and synthesise published scientific material
  • Communicate clearly and coherently via well developed written and oral presentation skills
  • Conduct and evaluate research used in sport and exercise science and clinical exercise physiology by undertaking a systematic review

  • Oral > Presentation 1 - (30%) - Individual
  • Participation > Class participation - Individual
  • Written > Critical appraisal/review - (50%) - Individual
  • Written > Proposal - (20%) - Individual

Special Assessment Requirements

Passing requirements: complete and submit all assessment items; achieve a cumulative score of at least 50% after the application of any penalties such as late penalties; participate in at least 80% of scheduled workshops.
