MO1031 - Mental Health Across the Lifespan

This module has been developed specifically for allied health professionals in the following professions: Occupational Therapy, Psychology and Social Work. This module requires access to a patient or consumer with a diagnosed mood or anxiety disorder, so as to demonstrate achievement of module outcomes in the appropriate clinical context.

Subject Description

    This module provides participants with an opportunity to examine common mental health presentations experienced across the lifespan within the context of the mental health continuum. The impact of associated risk and protective factors and the accumulation of positive and negative effects of mental health experiences are explored. Interprofessional implications and the challenges of rural and remote mental health service delivery will also be explored.

Learning Outcomes

  • formulate comprehensive intervention plans designed to optimise care for people diagnosed with a mental health disorder across the lifespan in the rural and/or remote setting, by applying an advanced theoretical knowledge of disorders and assessments
