This module has been developed specifically for allied health professionals in the following professions; Dietetics.

Subject Description

    This module builds rural generalist knowledge and skills in nutrition and dietetics in rural and remote communities. Participants examine assessment, planning and implementation of interventions for individual consumers with complex health issues, articulating the challenges associated with the rural and/or remote context. This module has been developed specifically for allied health professionals in the following professions: Dietetics. Participants are responsible for ensuring they are practicing in accordance with the regulatory instruments of their specific allied health profession, within their own personal scope of practice and experience level and in accordance with the policies of their employer. This module requires access to a patient or consumer with a complex health issue.

Learning Outcomes

  • assess, manage and monitor the dietary and nutritional needs of individual consumers in a rural or remote community, to facilitate best practice, patient-centered nutritional interventions
