Subject Description

This module introduces participants to the fundamentals of project management. Participants will be guided through rationalising a project and the stages of project management before reviewing common types of project management methodologies. Understanding a project's context by reviewing and assessing its initiation status and governance documentation is explored in conjunction with the structure of project plans. Participants will learn the value of identifying and analysing project stakeholders for the purposes of developing a project communication plan and the project's overall success. Risk management, project evaluation, forming and communicating recommendations are also considered. This module requires access to a workplace project, so as to demonstrate achievement of module outcomes. The workplace project may be in draft form, about to commence or one that has already commenced.
