Subject Description

    This subject introduces students to research and writing methods relevant to the exciting and evolving area of multidisciplinary research. Students will develop skills in writing for a range of audiences and learn how to interpret and apply research from multiple disciplines to a variety of contexts. In this subject, students engage with activities relevant to the development of future research proposals, literature reviews, journal articles, conference presentations, reports and being able to professionally correspond with individuals, groups and organisations.

Learning Outcomes

  • evaluate complex conflict and related theories and standards for professional practice in conflict management and resolution
  • provide specialised advice to assist individuals, groups and organisations to constructively manage conflict
  • independently and critically reflect on and assess their own capabilities and performance, and make use of feedback as appropriate, to support personal and professional development
  • exercise independent ethical judgment and initiative in conflict management and resolution practice and research
  • research, analyse and interpret data from a range of sources relevant to conflict management and resolution

  • Written > Essay (including multi-draft) 1 - (30%) - Individual
  • Written > Literature review - (40%) - Individual
  • Written > Problem task - (30%) - Individual

Special Assessment Requirements

This subject will be taught online through LearnJCU. Students must engage in online learning from the first week of the study period and throughout the entire study period. There will be online collaborate sessions scheduled throughout the semester.
